What are your nicknames (that you’ll admit to)?

Benjie, B-Dog, Dad, Berm (it’s a piece of land).

How long have you been with WCKM/HITS/WWSC?

I started in June of 2003 and stayed until 2006. Then I came back in 2014 and have been here ever since.

Where did you graduate high school?

I graduated from Bishop Maginn High School in Albany 1998.

Back in your high school days, what groups/organizations or teams did you belong to?

I was on the newspaper for part of my senior year.

Who were your radio influences?

Howard Stern and Rush Limbaugh.

How did you get into the radio business?

By attending the New School of Radio and Television and getting an internship at WGNA.

What do you like to do on your day off?

Read, nap, watch TV, hang out with my kids and listen to music.

What was your favorite concert you attended at SPAC?

Santana back in 1998.

What has been the best moment you’ve had while on air?

When I was at WGNA, I got to interview WWE Hall of Famer Edge when he was just starting up. That was awesome!

What is one thing that would surprise the listeners about you?

I can name pretty much every Pink Floyd and Queen album from first to last. I can also recite Toy Story 2 because I have watched it over 50 times with my son Antonio.

What would you be doing if you weren’t in radio?

I would be teaching people about getting into radio.

What is your least favorite food?

Seafood!

If there was a movie about you life, who would you like to play you?

Adam Sandler.

If you could pick where you could go locally on vacation, where would you go?

Mointer Bay in Crown Point to camp. I did a lot of camping up there with grandparents when I was younger admit holds a lot of good memories.

If you could be someone else on staff for just one day, who would it be and why?

Dan Miner. He has seen and done it and it would be pretty cool to walk in his shoes for a day.

Name three movies that are a ‘must watch’ for you.

Ghostbusters (1994), The Godfather and Toy Story 2.

What is your karaoke song?

The Devil Went Down to Georgia.

What is your favorite local place to go?

Martha’s Dandee Cream.

If you won the lottery, what would be your first purchase?

100 acres of land and build homes of my family…kinda like a mini-Kennedy compound area.

Do you have any pets?

I have two cats, Zoey and Luna.

What is your favorite thing about the community?

The people. You get to know so many people working in radio face to face when we go out and when you talk to them over the phone. Also, when we need help to raise money for a good cause, the people of the community come together like no other. I have seen it and it never stops amazing me.

What advice do you have for aspiring radio DJs?

You need to love what you are setting out to do, simple as that. All I wanted to do since I was five was work in radio. Everyday is different and I love it. You need to have passion and be willing to do a lot when you first start out, but it wall pay off in the end.
