Where did you graduate high school from?

Tamarac High School

Back in your high school days, what groups/ organizations or teams did you belong to?

Varsity soccer, Varsity club, Key Club, and Chorus.

Who were your radio influences?

Harry Downey, Don Weeks, Lee Warner, and Laurie Labarge-Basically 81 WGY and 99GFM

How did you get into the radio business?

I was attending college for radio and heard of an overnight poison at 1450 WWSC. The station manager, Dave Covey, stressed they were looking for someone with “experience with producing commercials as well as on air, thanks for stopping by.” I asked if I could check out the production studio, and I recorded all the scripts in the studio on cassette and brought the cassette to his office. He asked me what it was, and I told him I predicted all the commercials that I found in the studio. He stood up and said, “You start tonight.”

How long have you been with HITS/WCKM/WWSC?

I started with WWSC in 1992 when I was 2o years old.

What is one thing that would surprise the listeners about you?

I was part of an experiment for the FDA to test Human Growth Hormone.

What would you be doing if you weren’t in radio?

I attended college with plans to become a doctor.

What do you like to do on your day off?

Mow the law, charity work, watch movies and spend time with friends.

If you could pick where you could go locally on vacation, where would you go?

Home! I’m not there enough.

What is your karaoke song?

Anything Dean Martin!

What is your favorite local place to go?

I love the Bolton Beach!

If you won the lottery, what would be your first purchase?

I would pay off my house.

What are your interests?

I love doing charity work! I am very active at the Glens Falls Elks Lodge. Ths year I was elected to position of Exalted Ruler. I have volunteered for Prospect Child and Family Center’s Festival of Trees, telethon and during their volleyball tournament. I help Glens Falls Kiwanis during their events. I have been on the committees for the Glens Falls Hospital Cancer Services Program Downtown goes Blue and Greenwich Goes Pink.

Name three of your ‘must watch’ movies.

Red Dawn, Lady in the Water and Strange Brew.

What are your favorite TV shows?

Seinfeld, Cheers, all the CSI’s, Everybody Loves Raymond, Psych.

Who are your favorite recording artists?

Not a fair question! I’ll be leaving some out, but absolute favorites are Bad Company, Dennis DeYoung, REO Speedwagon, Styx, Little River Band, England Dan and John Ford Coley, Firefall.

What was your favorite concert you attended at the CIA?GFCC?

Reo Speedwagon and Styx!

What was your favorite concert you attended at SPAC?

Bad Company! Hands down my all time favorite!

What are your favorite sports teams?

The New York Yankees and the Green Bay Packers.

What are your favorite and least favorite foods?

Chicken wings are my favorite!!!!!! But I’m not really big on sweets.

What is your nickname or nicknames?

Vinny in college and was once known as “The Ladies Man” here on WCKM.

Do you have any pets?

2 cats, Laney and Beth.

What is the one thing you shouldn’t tell us about you?

I don’t own enough pairs of socks.

What is the weirdest thing to happen to you while on the air?

I was trying to convince a trainee in the middle of the night someone was lurking outside the station. I kept sneaking outside and banging on the window in the studio he was working in. I forgot to close the door and the last time I came in an actual “STRANGE” listener wandered in. At that point I was the frightened one!

What is an unknown fact or two about you?

I was a patient that took experimental Human Growth Hormone for the FDA as a child until I was 17. I have had two heart surgeries as an infant and five or so plastic surgeries as a child. None of it bothers me!

If there was a movie about your life, who would you want to play you?

Tom Cruise.

What is your favorite thing about the community?

This community is amazing in its ability to come together and raise money for so many different charities. It’s an inspiration to live here!
